Got to California around noon, LA time (I think). My cousin had to go pick up coffee in Hollywood so we took a ride to do that. When we got back to his house we were hungry so me, k, yaz, and the kids went to get lunch at this place Forage. Probably my favorite thing we ate in LA. We walked up and down Sunset for a while after that and then went home and sat on the porch for a while. Me and Kaila hung out for a while with the kids and stuff. We had banginnn cuban sandwiches for dinner and then me and Kaila passed outttttt.

These are two of the three chickens that my cousins have. They hatched some eggs that were breakfast for me and Kaila, haha. The kids went to spend the day with their grandmother so me and k went to a thrift store in Glendale with Alexis and Yaz. I got a deck of cards that only had 3 different types of cards in it. Kaila got a pair of sunglasses that she lovessss. Then we went to In-n-Out Burger for an artery clogging, delicious lunch. We got coffees at Starbucks and then went back to pick up Rita and Ella and went back out. We drove around in Alexis' 1951 chevy, with a PA system standing on a milk crate in the back seat so that it could stick out the back window - and Alexis heckled people as we passed them on the street. He'd see a group of hipsters, 2 girls and a guy who all looked the same and say, "you three chicks look great together!" This was the highlight of my trip. Philippe's for dinner was another good choice and the ride there was also accompanied by the PA. After dinner Eileen's brother picked us up and the four of us went to an Argentinian restaurant for sangria. Yum.

Last full day in LA. Was super sad about that. The kids had school so during the day me and Kaila walked up and down Vermont. We ate at a diner that I like there and then went in book stores and stuff. On the way back we decided to go to some mexican place for a beer. There was a soccer game on and there were all of these mexican dudes in there going nuts - they were with one guy who was clearly from England (the team mexico was playing) - and they were all screaming and drinking. It was fucking hilarious. We made it back to Alexis' in just enough time to hop in his car and go meet his friend Mike who Kaila was going to talk to about advertising. We got back to the house and just hung out for a while - we taught my cousins how to play Big Booty which was hilarious and entertaining. We had dinner and then sat on the porch some more. That night Alexis took me and Kaila out for a ride - he showed us downtown LA and I think East LA which was literally like being in Mexico. We hit up a good dollar store there and he took us to a gym where he painted a mural for Nike in memory of the LA Lakers sportscaster. On the way home we got donuts, haha. We stayed with them a little while longer in the house and watched an episode of Mad Men - Eileen showed up to sleep over since she would be leaving for Carlsbad with us the next day. Then we said goodbye to Alexis and went to bed.

We woke up and were super lazy - laid around a while - eventually took showers and got ready - and then went out for pancakes at this really great place in Hollywood with Yaz. Everyone ordered pancakes but I didn't do it because I hate eating sweet stuff for breakfast. Thank god I didn't - they were fucking massive. I'm sure they were delicious but seriously all for of us could have ordered 1 thing of pancakes and there would have been leftovers. When we left we tried to find homeless people to give what was basically three full orders of pancakes to but we didn't see any so we went home. Me Kaila and Eileen walked up and down sunset again - she was happy to see the figure 8 wall. We got a bottle of wine and went back to the house to finish packing and then sit outside and drink our vino. We got picked up, drove down to Carlsbad with some road beers, went to dinner, got ready, and went out for the night. That's all I'll say about our first night in Carlsbad.
